KIM Kardashian is now in better shape than ever, after starting a gruelling diet and fitness regime with bodybuilder Melissa Alcantara.
But what does the mum-of-three eat in a day, and what are her go-to exercises? Here’s what we know…
What is Kim Kardashian’s diet?
Kim was spurred into action after seeing unflattering pics of herself on the beach in Mexico.
She is now following a version of the keto diet, which involves eating lots of good fats to curb hunger pangs – while cutting down on carbs.
Melissa told People magazine that Kim is only allowed “real food that’s cooked (fresh) every day”.
Processed foods like biscuits, breads, sauces and even salad dressing are officially off the table.
Melissa added: “Most likely if it comes out of a box, it’s not going to be good for you.”
Kim’s day on a plate
- BREAKFAST: Blueberry oatmeal pancakes
- LUNCH: Chicken, sweat potato and vegetables
- DINNER: Fish and vegetables
- DRINK: A gallon of water a day (4 and a half litres)
It may sound simple enough – but notice that the diet doesn’t include any snacks? And always eating clean requires a LOT of willpower.
An appearance on KUWTK showed Melissa clearing out all the “processed crap”, like rice crispie snacks, from Kim’s cupboards.
She does have the occasional treat, like banana bread, but says junk food now makes her feel sick.
Melissa said: “Recently she told me she had some fries that were really greasy and it made her stomach feel bad because she wasn’t used to it.
“Which is great because after that, you’re less likely to go for those foods.”
Kim echoed that on Twitter recently, when a fan asked if she goes all out or just takes it easy on ‘cheat days’.
The KUWTK star replied: “Take it easy, it’s not worth it & I get sick now if I eat too much junk.”
How often does Kim Kardashian work out?
Kim trains with Melissa at her house six times a week, at the scarily early time of 6am.
She works out for an hour and a half, before her kids get up, to kick start her day.
The reality star does a mixture of low-intensity internal training, weight training and high-intensity interval training.
Back in September, Kim Snapchatted a video revealing a circuit of:
- Hex headlift squats using a barbell weight bar
- Weighted power sleds
- Romanian deadlifts
- Seated leg presses
- Glute kickbacks on a weighted leg curl machine
Who is Kim Kardashian’s trainer Melissa Alcantara?
Melissa is a fierce bodybuilder who specialises in eight-week body sculpting programmes.
She has 150,000 followers on he Instagram page fitgirlme, a number which understandably skyrocketed after she appeared on KUWTK.
The trainer’s story especially inspired Kim because Melissa is a mum herself – who says she gained 5st during pregnancy, and shed the pounds by hitting the gym and eating clean.
